Why should I register my profile with petsitter.ie?
If you are already an experienced petsitter, a pet owner, or someone looking for part time work, petsitter.ie will help advertise your availability to our membership of registered pet owners.
How much does it cost to register my profile with petsitter.ie?
It is totally free to register your profile as a pet sitter or pet owner.
What is the minimum age to join as a pet sitter?
You must be 16 years or older to register your pet sitter profile. This is to ensure pet sitters are capable of carrying out their duties in a mature, responsible manner. By creating a pet sitter profile on, and using petsitter.ie, you are verifying that you are over 16 years of age.
Must I be an experienced pet sitter to join petsitter.ie?
There are no specific experience requirements to join petsitter.ie, however completing your profile fully will improve the likelihood of being selected by pet owners to work for them.
Why must I verify my email address and mobile phone number when signing up?
This is to ensure an added level of security, and to ensure pet owners can contact you easily - if your email address and phone number is not valid, you may lose out on valuable work.
Are my contact details secure?
Only fully verified pet owners can contact you through our private messaging system. You can choose to share additional or contact details such as phone number and email address with them. Pet owners must be logged in to view this information.

How do I search for a pet sitter in my area?
Finding a pet sitter in your area is easy. Throughout the site you will see a simple search tool. Select the attributes of your ideal pet sitter. Pet sitters with complete profiles, and who have logged in recently will appear at the top of the list. It is free to search pet sitter profiles and add pet sitters to your favourites (once you are logged in), but in order to contact pet sitters or other pet owners you must purchase a full membership subscription with us, and ensure it is up to date.
Are the pet sitters on the site comprehensively screened?
Once a pet sitter or pet owner registers with us, they must then click on a validation email which confirms their email address. They must also confirm their phone number. Only pet sitters or pet owners who have validated their email address and phone number may use the site. This is our initial way of preventing misrepresentation.
Also, when pet sitters and pet owners register with us, the IP address of the computer they sign up on is tracked. When logging into the site for future visits, the last IP of each visit it also logged separately. Once again, this can help discourage misuse of the service. We do not interview pet sitters individually, we are merely a conduit between pet sitters and pet owners. You are encouraged to ask for references.
Is finding a pet sitter on the internet safe?
Yes. Whilst a fairly new idea, finding a pet sitter on the internet as safe as placing an advertisement in a local shop or newspaper. We bring together literally thousands of pet sitters in one area, giving you choice and availability which is unmatched by any other method of finding pet sitters - we have new pet sitters registering every hour.
Pet owners should meet pet sitters before they begin minding their pets, and exercise a reasonable amount of caution and care during the process.
